As we spend more hours on our phones or in digital conferences, some are arguing there is a greater risk to our hearing.
One in three Australians over the age of 50 live with hearing loss, and if it’s left untreated, hit can lead to social isolation, fatigue, depression and anxiety. Social isolation and video conferencing is becoming the “new normal”. Dr Sophie Brice, a tele-audiologist and researcher with Swinburne University, echoes calls to get your hearing checked early amid the potentially increased risks that come with new lifestyles.
