75-year-old man dies in hospital after alleged assault
A 75-year-old man has died after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of teenagers in Toowoomba City last week.
The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he today died as a result of his injuries.
It’s alleged the North Toowoomba man was waiting at a taxi-rank on Margaret Street around 5pm on February 6 when he was pushed from behind, causing him to fall to the ground, before his backpack was stolen.
The 18-year-old man, 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys were charged with grievous bodily harm.
It’s expected their charges will be upgraded following the results of a post-mortem report.
