Scott Emerson

The fuel cycle is definitely on its way up again and motorists are going to feel it at the petrol pump, with drivers being urged to shop around.

Prices could soon reach a staggering $2/litre across the south east.

Sarah Orr, a spokesperson for Compare the Market suggested shopping around.

“We have seen a number of those inner ring petrol stations marking up unleaded at. $1.96/litre,” she told Scott Emerson.

“The average across the city is $1.72.”

She said it appeared to be going up across the board.
