Win tickets to the St.George Queensland Reds!

MML

The St.George Queensland Reds have their eyes firmly fixed on 2018, with a renewed hunger to reach their potential.  Head Coach Brad Thorn took the Queensland U20s to an undefeated national title earlier this year, before steering Bond University Queensland Country on a path to lifting the National Rugby Championship trophy – taking the side from the wooden spoon to the title in a year.

Queensland Rugby Union has also added further experience to its coaching staff with the appointment of for Munster, Wallabies and Melbourne Rebels coach Tony McGahan.

With major re-signings and new star recruits, the Reds Family is excited about the season ahead and looking forward to wearing the jersey with renewed pride.

NRC leading try scorer Filipo Daugunu has joined the Reds Family, along with Queensland/Australian U20s and NRC winners Angus Blyth, Harry Hockings and Hamish Stewart.

Caleb Timu – named best player in 2017 NRC season has recommitted for the Season ahead, along with Duncan Paia’aua, who played most minutes of any Reds player in 2017, captained Queensland Country to the NRC title with a man of the match performance in NRC grand final and represented the Wallabies against Barbarians.

Izaia Perese, currently on Spring Tour with Wallabies, has rejoined his teammates along with Eto Nabuli, the Reds’ leading try scorer in 2017, and Chris Feauai-Sautia – one of Queensland Country’s leading attacking players in their 2017 NRC title-winning campaign.

The Reds are also still boasting a number of Wallabies players in 2018, including Lukhan Tui, Izack Rodda, Samu Kerevi, James Slipper, Kane Douglas and Scott Higginbotham – all back for another year of Super Rugby.
