Nundah's Fresh Farmers Markets are on EVERY Sunday in the Nundah Train station Car Park, tucked just below Nundah Village. The market is mostly made up of fresh Fruit and Vegetable Stalls all sourced from Northern NSW, Stanthorpe and Noosa and all selling a very wide range of produce. The Northey Street Farm Markets are on every Sunday from 6am to 11am. Over 30 stalls of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, all seasonal, plus dairy products, milk, eggs, cheeses, yoghurt, cream and organic coffee, fruit juices, breads, meats, chicken. The uniqueness of these markets is that the produce comes straight from the grower. The Sandgate and District Historical Museum will celebrate Australian Heritage Week with two guided walks in the district on the Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2014. On the Saturday, participants will discover the historic homes of Sandgate. Many of the houses date back to the 1880s and the walk will include a stroll along the beach front with views of Bramble Bay and a living history of the settlement. One beautifully restored home visited will be Meridian historical home on Flinders Parade. On Sunday, the walk will explore the historical buildings of Sandgate and early bayside history. This will be an easy flat walk which will showcase the fine architecture of local buildings and acknowledge Sandgate’s early history.

Million Paws Walk is back and bigger than ever with over 17,000 people estimated to walk at 26 different locations state wide, on Sunday 18th May 2014. This year RSPCA Qld is hoping to raise $250,000 for dogs in need. Nearly 45,000 animals pass through RSPCA Qld Animal Care Centres every year and over 18,000 are dogs that have been surrendered, abandoned or seized by Inspectors. These dogs are not as fortunate as your much-loved family pet. They often need to be de-sexed and vaccinated before they have the chance to find a new home. The money raised through The Million Paws Walk enables these dogs to receive daily care, veterinary treatment and funds rehoming programs. The Guide Dogs Queensland annual Open Day will be held on Sunday 6 July from 10am‐3pm at the Guide Dogs Queensland Breeding and Training Centre, 1978 Gympie Road, Bald Hills. This is the chance for you to go behind-the-scenes of one of Australia’s most loved charities and see our canine friends in training to be the next generations of working Guide Dogs. With Guide Dog and puppy demonstrations, kennel tours, dog displays from organisations like the Police and defence force, as well as a heap of food and fun activities for the kids, there’s plenty to do for a fun family day out. You can even get a picture with a Guide Dog‐in‐training. Entry is by a gold coin donation or $5 per car. There is limited on‐site parking available and please leave all pets at home.
