Walter Williams

Walter Williams

Week Nights
August 26, 2008

Walter Williams lives, eats, breathes and sleeps radio.

He's even installed radios in every room of his old Queenslander so he doesn't miss a minute of news or information.

This former army brat first got the radio bug when listening to the launch of 2JJ as a teenager.

He started out in radio while still at Pimlico High School in Townsville and has been broadcasting for over 30 years.

He's worked in radio stations down the length of Australia's east coast including Mackay, Launceston and Sydney finally settling down in Ipswich for the last 2 decades and loving the Brisbane, Gold and Sunshine Coast lifestyle for himself and his family.

The name Walter Williams should be familiar to listeners of 4BC as he's been presenting the news on the station he's called home since 2002.

Weekend listeners will also be familiar with his big rich voice and laid back style after hosting the Weekend Night's program since 2007.

Now Weeknight listeners can spend some quality time with him from 8 till midnight Monday to Friday, after the microphone was passed on from the legendary Ian Maurice.

Walter's strong journalistic background means he can go beyond the news to give you a more in depth look at the day's events and hot talk back issues.

All your favourites are back in "Walt's World' for 2011 plus a couple of extras and a cavalcade of stars are lining up for the Chat Room and the Couch on Friday nights at 9.

Walter's program is the perfect way to unwind after dark. With music, memories and great conversation, Walter’s show is 4 hours of entertaining companionship until midnight.
