  • Hi Greg, I am a "man made" global warming sceptic. However, as usual, you orated a very balanced point of view. I had to agree with the vast majority of what you said, especially regarding the "pollies" and various groups hijacking this scenario and using it for their own political end game. Well said!

    • It is interesting today that Professor Tim Flannery a key adviser to Julia Gillard the duped and the Head of the Australian Government's Climate Change Commission which is spreading truth of the based on lies and deception, has said in an interview with Andrew Bolt that it would take a 1000 years of carbon tax before global temprature drops, a millennium. How much more information is being hidden perhaps this snide Media watch bloke should be watching what the ABC is touting daily and all night, what the government turn your torch on the Alarmist scaremongers and sort the lies out for us cause I do not agree with the garbage that they are touting.

      • The Clones and the Drones at the taxpayer funded ABC give their own warped opinions on most subjects..
        Please explain:
Col. Gadaffi, the Dictator/Ruler of the oil-rich country of Libya had been under siege from insurgents in his own country for a week or so.
He was in the process of ¢putting down¢ the insurgents.
The insurgents screamed for help from the West, or anyone who would help them in their cause. They claimed innocent people were being massacred by Gadaffi in his defense of the country. They too, were massacring Government troops and innocent people.
The UN, the Arab Nations and Obama had a big meeting.
The meeting determined that Western troops were not wanted in Libya. But they wanted Gadaffi¢s Government troops to be slaughtered and his means to defend his country were to be destroyed, by whatever means, under the pretext of establishing a ¢no fly zone¢ over Libya. This was to take away from him, his means of defense and allow the insurgents to defeat him. These insurgents were often referred to in all forms of the media, as rebels, and by many other names.
Obama ordered the establishment of this no fly zone without any authorization from the US Congress. France carried it out initially and others then became involved in the slaying of the forces and civilians of a country which had been accepted by all those countries who now attacked it.
Libya is a Muslim country. Family members are slaughtering each other.
I recall Gadaffi, in a speech to his supporters saying¢¦ What do they want? Would they prefer to be ruled by the Taliban?, because that is the alternative.

        • part 2.
And I ask the question in the knowledge that all the journalists involved are fully aware of the political trickery and thuggery involved in this mayhem and they are all equally to blame for the deaths of many many innocent people. Guilt by silence.
          My question.
Please tell the people you have deceived in this matter, who is to take over from Gadaffi and his Government? If it is the Brotherhood and or the Taliban and or radical Islam, then who is going to protect the innocent from the genocide that will follow the defeat of Gadaffi? If you allow the new rule of that country to be any of those just mentioned, then remember what you have done. Particularly you Mr Obama.
God help us, we are allowing a cauldron of spew to manifest itself among us and we are aiding and abetting the destruction of our freedom and the peaceful freedom of my grandkids. A pox on the greed and ambition of man.

            • I agree Greg, the only certainty remains death and taxes.
I believe we will have a better understanding of climate by mid-century. The science is far too complex to make judgements now on the information available that has been prostituted by politics.
Within a century we progressed from the first flight to many landings on the moon, surely future generations will find the answers that we don't have now.

              • It's hard to deliver a balanced view when the policy of the true believers is to avoid public discussion(humiliation).

                • Greg say his open to all the argument so he can decide to make his mind then he say bring on the debate about carbon tax to the government and Ross Garnaut that doesn't sound like someone still looking for answers sound more like he has made up his mind and ready to rumble. Greg has a habit of always emphasizing the fact that certain people are paid by the government so they only say what the goverment wants them to say I say hogwash to that If Greg belives this to true and had evidence of this he would be campaining to closed down the CSIRO I would support him.On the other hand a lot of the proffesional people who speak agaisnt the Carbon Tax are not placed in this situation but yet there is quite a few if you follow there line back you find Exxon or the Koch Brothers funding.

                  • The following is a u-tube link to a speech made by Dr David Evans in Perth ~ a previous believer, who saw the light.

Me, well I never believed in anthropogenic Global Warming ~ Climate Change? Yes!

We live on a planet which is not a sphere but is shaped a little like a pear, with the axis leaning off the perpendicular and wobbling like a top hurtling through space at 800 kph at varying distances from the sun.

We have seasons; summer, autumn, winter and spring. The planet experiences these seasons and has snow caps at both ends because we are a little pear shaped and our axis off perpendicular.

These seasons vary in intensity and length of time because we are in a cycle of varying distances from the sun.

There is an astrolabe in N.Z. from which is measured the wobble of this planet and was installed in 1957.

I tend to believe that the powers that be know that there is no such thing as anthropogenic Global Warming, but it is far more advantageous for them to run this scare campaign and then levy a tax to enable them to been seen as our savours.

That is why the desperation to institute this tax regime now before we all wise up. Have you noticed how extreme Al Gore has become lately?

                    • So Colene, you comment on a five month old post in order to put forward this hoary old chestnut. Wow! Because the earth goes through natural cycles, and has an elliptical orbit, man's burning of fossil fuels has no effect on climate.
That doesn't make sense on even the most basic of levels! The two are fundamentally unrelated!
