Cricket returns to the Gabba

Australian captain Michael Clarke will look to the sky and consult the Gabba wicket this morning before deciding whether to unleash four quicks on South Africa in the first Test today.

Clarke says he will reassess the conditions before opting for an all-out pace assault on the world number one Proteas, or picking three pacemen and spinner Nathan Lyon.

CLARKE says former skipper Ricky Ponting has overcome a hamstring complaint and is ready and raring to tackle a world class South African pace battery spearheaded by world number one quick Dale Steyn.
