Michael Smith

Michael Smith first became known to 1116 4BC listeners as the 'Technology Guru' on the Drive Program; however his range of expertise extends well beyond that field.

Michael has had an extensive and varied career including holding several high profile positions in the telecommunications industry - with both Vodafone and Telstra - serving as a Constable in the Victorian Police Force and serving in the Australian Army. He also speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesian, having lived and worked in Jakarta, Indonesia.

After a six-month stint presenting the 'Michael Smith Hour' from 7pm to 8pm weeknights, in January 2008 Michael took on the role of 4BC Drive Announcer.

The Drive Show with Michael Smith is a fast paced, hard hitting 3-hour program. With his insightful look at the day's news and current affairs, Michael asks the questions you want answered and will pursue a story to its end. Covering a variety of local, national and international stories, Michael brings his flair and enthusiasm to the Drive Show, as well as a talented mix of regular contributors.
