clocked up more than 30 years in radio
Loretta Ryan was a fresh faced 18 year old when she started in radio back in 1983..
Landing a job in the schedules department, she also developed skills in production before being offered a cadetship in the newsroom.
After seven years with Radio Ten, Loretta moved to Triple M where she presented news, had a stint as Acting News Director and also co-hosted a successful afternoon entertainment/sports program called Blood Sweat and Beers.
Loretta stayed with Triple M for 16 years, before deciding to take up the exciting challenge of 4BH breakfast co-host , working initially with Kim Mothershaw and then Moyd Kay.
Ironically, Loretta and Moyd had previously worked together at Radio Ten, Kay the drive-time announcer, and Ryan the young news cadet.
“We didn’t really know each other that well – he was the cool radio jock and I was just the little news chick! “ Ryan says.
We both love to chat and have fun, and we’re keen to bring a friendly, entertaining, and informative lunchtime show to Brisbane listeners.
Loretta’s passion for the media has also seen her fulfil a long held dream to work in television.
Her most recent achievement was writing and presenting stories on Channel’s afternoon lifestyle program EXTRA. She also filled in for a week as guest host.
Loretta’s other television credits include hosting an entertainment program called FMV TV which was screened on Channel Seven in Brisbane and throughout regional Queensland by Austar.
She hosted a real estate program for Channel Seven, produced by PLM advertising and a home improvement show which was broadcast on the Gold Coast.
Previously, Loretta also appeared as an extra on the locally produced television series Paradise Beach where she played a journalist.
Loretta’s radio profile means she regularly MCs events for the radio station. She is also sought after for corporate functions and does voice overs for commercials and telephone on hold messages for businesses through McGirvan Media.
