Veteran Queensland MP RAY HOPPER has resigned from the Liberal National Party and joined Katter's Australian Party.
The member for Condamine says fellow former Nationals have been treated apallingly by the Premier.
The Courier Mail reports Mr HOPPER's held discussions with other dissatisfied MPs, and expects more to follow him in the new year.
Federal MP BOB KATTER told AAP Mr HOPPER has been unhappy with the government's leadership for some time.
Mr KATTER says Mr HOPPER - MP for the rural Darling Downs' electorate of Condamine - felt pressure in the party to give in to coal seam gas and the Cubbie Station sell off.
Mr HOPPER'S resignation last night comes after mining billionaire and LNP life member CLIVE PALMER quit the party.
