John's first job in radio was at 4GR in Toowoomba, followed by a stint at 4AK. He then moved on to become a News Reporter at 4KQ & 4IP; where he was made News Editor after five years.
In 1975 he became the News Editor at 4BK and in 1982 the News Director at 2UE in Sydney. He has also worked for the 7 Network as Executive Producer of current affairs in Brisbane and Sydney,

John has been part of the 4BC team for over 12 years, moist recently hosting the Drive Program. In 2008, John takes on the role of hosting Summer Weekends.

What was your first job?
First paying job whilst at Uni was working in the old Bulimba brewery at Kemp place. Loved the product, hated the job.

What is your favourite on air moment thus far?
I know this might sound like a cop out, but there are too many to mention. If I really had to choose it was broadcasting back to Australia on Christmas day from Bethlehem.

What is your most embarrassing on air moment?
When then Australian cricket Captain Kim Hughes dropped the magic word on air and we were not in delay.

If you could interview anyone (living or dead) who would it be?
Winston Churchill, Neil Armstrong and Catherine Zeta Jones.
