Jim Ball's broadcasting career began in the late 60's at 2NM in Muswellbrook. Along the way he's worked in My Isa, Bundaberg, Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne and Sydney.

For seven years Jim has enjoyed a great deal of rating's success as the host of 2GB's overnight program and now Jim joins 4BC's New Day Australia, broadcast on stations across the country.

Weekends - midnight to 5am

John started in radio at the end of 1957 working as an assistant on the Jack Davey Shows.

John was employed as a cadet announcer at Radio 2PK in Parkes in March of 1958, moving to Dubbo's 2DU in 1959 and then in 1960 taking up duties as Breakfast announcer at 2CA in Canberra where he remained for the next six years.

In 1994 he was invited by 2UE to host the Monday to Friday New Day Australia program which has rated consistently high over nine years.

What was your first job?
In 1957 I started work as an office boy with 2GB, progressing to assistant on the nationally broadcast series of the Jack Davey Shows.

What is your favourite on air moment thus far?
Doing the Christmas morning breakfast programme in Gosford and receiving a call from my four year old son telling me to come home.

What is your most embarrassing on air moment?
On 2UE doing an interview with Stevie Wonder and telling him I wish he could see the lights of the harbour from our studio.

If you could interview anyone (living or dead) who would it be?
Frank Sinatra.
