Ian Maurice was a permanent fixture on the Nine network’s Wide World of Sports for more than 15 years.

His Sports Updates proved to be an integral part of the show’s success.

Affectionately known as “The Bear” Ian was Nine’s first commentator on rugby league’s State of Origin broadcasts.

He has hosted and commentated at Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games for both the Nine and Ten Networks.
