Col Campbell Retires
4BC’s “Gardening Guru” Colin Campbell has today officially announced his retirement. Cols’ last show will be on Sunday 1st January 2012
Col has become somewhat of an institution with not only his much loved 4BC listeners but with gardener’s Australia wide. He is one of the most knowledgeable and respected people in his field. His influence in the horticultural industry has been spread over some five decades. Col has received many accolades and awards for his contribution to the industry that he dearly loves.
Col’s gardening show has consistently been a high rating one for 4BC. In the most recent Survey 6/11 his show ranked No.2 between 6:00am and 8:00am on both Saturday and Sunday.
4BC General Manager, David McDonald said “This is an extremely sad time for Col’s listeners and staff at 4BC. He has had nothing but a positive influence on both the station and the gardening industry over many, many years. I would like to personally thank him for his major contribution and wish both him and his wife Beverly all the very best for his pending retirement.”
Col has passed his spade onto Clair Levander who will officially take over the Gardening Show from Col with his blessing having recommended her as his replacement to 4BC management. Clair has been co-hosting the show with Col for the past year and she has been extremely well received by 4BC’s loyal listeners and advertisers.
Clair has a strong background as a horticulturalist and specialises in plant production and runs her own business – “Ecobotanics”. Clair’s objective is to help listeners/consumers match plants to the environment they live in. Basically she wants to let “Mother Nature do her work”
The Clair Levander gardening show will commence on Saturday the 7th January 2012.
