Police are investigating the stabbing of a 23-year-old man just before 6 on Sunday evening.

It is believed the victim was at the Coopers Plains Railway Station with some friends when they were harassed by two males who were in company with two females. The two males, one armed with a bat, came at the group.

A short physical altercation ensued and as the group returned to their vehicle the victim discovered he was bleeding from a laceration believed to have been caused by a knife.

The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Initial investigations reveal that the people involved in the attack had fishing rods in their possession and had travelled by train from Southbank Railway Station.

Police have released images of people who may be able to assist with the investigation. Police are appealing for anyone who might have information about this incident or any person involved to please contact them.
