Update: theft of car, Bundall: Police have charged a 21-year-old man who allegedly stole a Holden Commodore from a car yard in Bundall just after midday yesterday. It is alleged the man posed as a perspective buyer, going on a test drive with the salesman before producing a weapon and demanding the vehicle. The offender allegedly drove away in the vehicle. The Surfers Paradise man and the alleged stolen vehicle were located at a unit complex in Surfers Paradise. The man was charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

 

House fire, Jimboomba: A three storey house has been destroyed in a fire around 6.30pm last night. Police and emergency services attended the residence on Nichols Street at Jimboomba but were unable to save the house. It is believed no one was home at the time of the blaze. Police investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
