The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Attempted murder arrest, Fortitude Valley: Police have charged a Brighton man, 26, with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another man last night. It will be alleged an 18-year-old man was standing on a platform at Fortitude Valley train station about 9pm when he was approached by the 26-year-old. The man allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the teenager in the stomach without warning. The victim remains in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The alleged offender is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
House fire, Brookwater: The cause of a fire which destroyed a townhouse at Brookwater, near Springfield, last night has not yet been determined. Police and emergency services were called to Ellerston Avenue shortly after 10pm and found the residence fully ablaze. No one was home at the time and it appears the fire may have started in a vehicle that was parked in the garage. Police are guarding the scene overnight until the cause of the fire can be determined.
