Suspicious death, Mt Isa: Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 48-year-old man located in bushland near the railway station at Mount Isa. The man was located deceased around 10.30 last night. A crime scene has been established and a Major Incident Room has been setup at the Mount Isa police station. Anyone with information which may assist police with their investigation is urged to contact the Mount Isa police station on 4744 1111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Serious traffic crash, Robina: Police are investigating a two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Cheltenham Drive and Killarney Avenue last night. Initial information suggests a sedan; travelling east on Cheltenham Drive was making a right hand turn into Killarney Avenue when an oncoming vehicle collided with the passenger side of the car. A 77-year-old woman who was the passenger in the vehicle was taken to the Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition. The driver’s of both vehicles sustained minor injuries.

Serious crash, Bilyana (Innisfail): A 46-year-old man is in a critical condition following a crash on the Bruce Highway just after midday yesterday. Initial reports indicate that a northbound truck collided with a southbound utility causing extensive damage to the utility and trapping the driver until emergency services attended. The 74-year-old driver of the truck received minor injuries. The drivers were the only occupant of each vehicle. The 46-year-old man was transported to Tully Hospital and was expected to be airlifted to Townsville hospital. The highway was closed for several hours while emergency services conducted investigations and clean up was carried out. The highway was re-opened at 6pm. Police investigations are continuing.
