Fatal traffic crash, Crowley Vale (near Gatton):  A woman believed to be in her 50’s has died following a collision between the car she was driving and a second car on the Warrego Highway at Crowley Vale around 9:15pm.  The driver of the other car, a 40-year-old woman from Kangaroo Point, Brisbane was taken to the St Vincent’s Hospital in Toowoomba with non life-threatening injuries.  Both vehicles only had one occupant.  Initial investigations suggest that the collision occurred when one car entered the intersection of the Warrego Highway from Crowley Vale Road and collided with a car travelling west on the highway. The Warrego Highway was closed in both directions for 3 hours whilst investigations at the scene were conducted.  The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

 

Serious traffic crash, Kaimkillenbun (near Dalby):  The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a traffic crash on the Dalby-Cooyar Road near Kaimkellenbun last night.  Around 6:45pm the car collided with cattle before colliding with a small truck parked at the side of the road.  The passenger in the car, a 20-year-old woman, sustained serious, life-threatening head injuries and was airlifted to the PA Hospital.  The driver, a 25-year-old man received a minor head injury.  An infant in the rear of the car was not injured.  All are from Quinalow.  There was no-one in the small truck at the time.  Two beasts were destroyed in the crash.

 

Update, missing man, Morningside:  The 76-year-old Holland Park man reported missing from Morningside yesterday morning has been located at Mt Gravatt.  Patrolling police located the man, safe and well around 4:00am.  He has been returned home to his family.

 

Attempted armed robbery, Carina Heights:  A man armed with a knife entered a convenience store on Winstanley Street, Carina Heights around 4:45pm yesterday.  The man attempted to reach the till, demanding cash, but was fended off by the attendant with a metal bar.  After throwing a box of food at the attendant the man fled from the store.  The attendant was not injured during the incident.  The man is described as being fat, 178cm tall wearing a multi-coloured grey hooded jumper and grey tracksuit pants.  Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.

 

Attempted armed robbery, Annerley:  Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at an Ipswich Road convenience store at Annerley yesterday afternoon.  Shortly before 6pm a man entered the store and threatened the female attendant with a knife, demanding cash and cigarettes.  The attendant fled from the store and the man ran away down Ipswich road, empty handed.  The man is described as being of solid build, 180cm tall and was wearing a grey hooded jacket and grey tracksuit trousers.  Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.
