The FFA is out of touch
I cannot believe how much it costs to attend an A-League game!
$75 is the base ticket for a family of 4. What an absolute joke, particularly in the current climate.
Now I am one person that doesn’t buy into the argument that cheap tickets cheapen the product. However I do buy into the argument that empty stadiums cheapen the product.
I know that the A-League struggles for crowds during this period but why not have different specials? For instance you could charge a flat $10 ticket price until the end of September or produce your AFL or NRL ticket and get into an A-League game for ½ prices or $10.
Something has to be done because the crowds for the opening weekend were terrible and the FFA and the clubs should hang their heads in shame. They have a product that isn’t available on free to air TV and now they make it unaffordable for a lot of families.
The Brisbane Lions and Broncos by right should be able to raise their prices but they remain cheaper options than the Roar. For example the Lions have a family price of $46 dollar and that is for 2 adults and 4 children!
The Roar has a very good team and they play in the number 1 rectangular sports stadium in the southern hemisphere but they shouldn’t make it out of reach of the average family.
If you want to go to a A-League game but can’t afford it then please leave a comment and I will pass them all on to the FFA.
