NRL Predicitions

thurston

Well here we go again. Here are my fearless predictions for the 2010 NRL season.

TOP 8

Parramatta
Bulldogs
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Dragons
Melbourne
North Queensland
Souths

GRAND FINAL

Flip a coin and don’t let anyone tell you that you are wrong. It’s going to be a close season. I think we could be seeing a Parramatta – Bulldogs decider. Brisbane, the Dragons and Gold Coast are the biggest dangers. But you can’t write off anyone!!!!!!!

BUY OF THE YEAR

This is a tough one because a lot of clubs have seemingly bought well for the 2010 season. Dave Taylor and Sam Burgess look the goods for Souths. But for mine Justin Poore’s signature is a massive one for the Eels. Along with Shane Shackleton he will provide much needed depth to the Parramatta pack.

WOODEN SPOON

Another hard one in what is shaping up to be a closely fought out competition. I can see the wooden spoon ‘winner’ still winning up to 9 or 10 games. I think the Warriors may struggle in 2010

STATE OF ORIGIN

Queensland 2 – 1 for 5 series wins in a row

Enjoy the 2010 season. It’s going to be a great one.

  • Hi Peter,I wonder how Dean Ritchie and Anthony Whatmough
    feel today about the"old"
    N0.6 who Captains The Maroons.
The scarey thing for The Blues is that J.T.had a
    quiet game by his standards.
    The Blues were beaten BEFORE
    they took the field.Fancy
two of their top players missing the Team Bus...
    Don't NSW Management staff
count heads like we did in school.
    I actually thought they had
a better team than in Game one.I thought they would give US a run for our money...
but all they wanted to do
    was fight.Luke O'Donnell
only getting 3wks for THAT tackle was a disgrace and
    then him coming out and
    saying that"dog"shots
were put on him...What a joke!
I'm not sure where The Blues
    go from here..but you can
    bet on one thing,ther'll
be NO atmosphere at ANZ in
    3wks time...If the Capt,
of NSW had to beg for fans
to come to the FIRST Game
    of a NEW series,how are
    they going to get Blues
supportersd to come to a Dead
Rubber when their team has lost 5 in a Row.ABLHED

  • Peter I agree with you,but
    may I just add something.
J.T.is super competitive and wants to win,and so he should. He had every right to
be upset with the match officals...
It's his own reaction to his
fellow Cowboy players, that makes me cringe. He berates
    them in a horrible way.
The place for that is in
    the dressingroom.Not out
on the field of play in front
    of all and sundry.
    Nobody's perfect.Not even
the best player in the comp.

  • This was the team,according
to the press and Choc Whatmough that was going to
    bash and beat us.Darren is
    supposed to be too old,too
slow and playing on for one year too many.We were missing one of our gun
    players because of injury.
They had home ground, home crowd advantage, and the mud
and the slush and the rain..
    and we STILL won!!
The score,in the end, flattered The Blues...
    If The Blues don't change
the positions of some of their players it's lookin'
    like...Five In A Row!!
    Bring it on!!

  • So Dean Ritchie thinks
    Darren will be out played
    by Ben Creagh and Anthony
    Watmough thinks Darren is
getting old and is trying to
    protect his back by speaking
    out about The Blues"over
    the top"mehtods...they
have a right to their opinion,
but let's see who's too old
    and too slow on Wed.night..
Me thinks it won't be The
    Maroons N0.6

  • Gus Goulds'solution for
    letting Melbourne play for
    points this season is last
    man on/first man off until
they are back under the cap.
Given that they are close to
    $1million over,for this season,that's
a lot of players they would
    have to shed...an eight or
nie man side would take the field...they'd deserve the two points if they could win under thosse circumstances.

    Well done The Broncos.That's
showing what team work can do.

  • Well,Well,Well...The Storm
    caught cheating...BIGTIME!
    The N.R.L.took the soft
    option of stripping them
    of their points and not
    allowing them to add points,
    even if they win...because
they've would still be fielding the players that
    they cheated to keep.But
in taking the soft option this means that The Storm
can STILL have an impact on
    this years Final Series...
they can keep a team out of the eight or the four or from
    winning The Minor Premiership
because of points or for and against.

    The harder and better option
    would have been to take
    the eight points off them,
    then double that thus making
    them -16,then tell them"You
can have the 2pts,if you win,but you must off load,or
    standown the players you
    have used to cheat the
    salary cap by $750,000 this
season alone. In other words you can't field your top
    four,gun players..."

Lets see how many games they
win when the playing field is even.

This makes me sick to my stomach, and don't think for
    one moment that the fallout
    is finished yet...

    More to come.And if Brian
    Waldron told me something
was black I know 100% that
it was white...so when he tells a Sydney newspaper
    that one player,who left
    The Storm,for another club,
    got $200,000,under the
    table,from that other club..
    I believe him NOT!!
