Who Killed Shaheda?

We have a real whodunit in our town.

Kaihana Hussain, 20 didn’t stab her mum Shaheda Yasmeen Hussain.

And she is not responsible for the knife wound in Muhammad Nural Hussain's stomach.

Kaihana Hussain, 20 didn't stab her mum Shaheda Yasmeen Hussain.

And she is not responsible for the knife wound in Muhammad Nural Hussain's stomach.

So who is?

Kaihana Hussain was 17 when she threatened to become an apostate – to turn away from Islam.

She told her parents she would convert to Christianity and would move to Sydney to be with her boyfriend Ben Brady.

When the family lived in Adelaide Kaihana ran away to Sydney to be with Ben. Her father, Muhammad, was the head of the Bangladesh Association in SA and he said that to have his daughter become an apostate would have caused "great shame".

When the family got Kaihana back, Muhammad relocated the family to the Gold Coast.

Two days after the return Kaihana told Muhammad that she would not pray to something she did not believe in.

And an argument followed.

The jury had to decide what version of events to believe.

Muhammad accused Kaihana of killing her mother Shehada and trying to kill him.

Kaihana said it was Muhammad who did the knifing.

The defence argued that Muhammad snapped when Kaihana refused to pray.

Only those who were there know what went on. Shehada is dead, she can't say what happened, nor can she answer the question of whether she came to the defence of her daughter?

The defence pointed out that Muhammad had effectively "confessed" to a nurse at the Princess Alexandra Hospital that he had "hurt" his wife.

Outside the Brisbane Supreme Court this morning, one juror hugged Kaihana Hussain

When Kaihana eventually left the court building about an hour after the trial ended, some members of the jury had stayed back to wish her well.

I have written to Queensland Police and asked them whether they have a suspect in the matter of the death of Shaheda Yasmeen Hussain, 41 years of age, who died on 9 October, 2006. I’ll let you know what they have to say.

It seems a struggle with the parents, add a knife, accidental death and a wounding. There was no blood from the accused on the knife and she always said she was innocent even after lengthy police interrogation.
I believe the jury got it right.

And I guess, when radical Islam takes over here, there won't be a fuss, like what's going on now. The girl will be executed and that will be that.

the case is over and courts have done their job,or have they?a girl was found not guilty of murder,she is free to go.this leaves one person,who has alledgedly,signed a bit of paper of indemnity.does that mean he did or did not commit murder? we will never know?however one person is dead and there are two people that know?
