Unlawful wounding, Coopers Plains

Police are investigating the unlawful wounding of a 23-year-old man just before 6 on Sunday evening.

It is believed the victim was with a group of people who had dropped a friend at the Coopers Plains Railway Station when the friend called for them to return after two men began harassing him.

When the group returned the two men, one armed with tree branches, and came at them.

A short physical altercation ensued and as the group returned to their vehicle the victim discovered he was bleeding from a laceration believed to have been caused by a knife.

The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.  These injuries are not considered life threatening.

The first man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, 183cm tall, aged around 19 or 20 with short hair and believed to have been carrying a knife.

The second man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, shorter in height, of a muscular build, aged around 19 or 20 and was carrying a tree branch at the time of the offence.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the incident to please contact them.

Still images of two men that may be able to assist with their inquiries have been released.

Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day. Crime Stoppers is a charitable community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.
