System failure
A distressed father calls into 4BC Drive, whose son, diagnosed with ADHD, attempted suicide last night. It seems that a complete lack of support has led to this crisis, and even after the fact, hospital and mental health services remain inadequate, discharging the boy with no advice or resources.

The whole system is stuffed. I have been apart of it for 10years now and still im confused. Im in a bad place at the moment with all this mental illness in the media. I have been screaming out for 10years wanting something to change. It is so devastating so many lives have been lost because the system is so inadiquate. My life was almost lost. Something has to happen and something has to happen now!!!!!!!!! It's only going to get worse.

hi smithy thank god you care.i feel for Shane and his family and anyone else in the same situation.mental illness is the silent killer,in my opinion the r.s.p.c.a treat animals better than mental health services treat humans.they couldnt even look after my wife who was in hospital,she just walked out of the ward and ended her life.if you turn up to hospital with a broken leg you dont get turned away,but if you have a mental illness that seems to be the answer!
