Queensland's Police Union president Ian Leavers joins the Michael Smith Drive show pushing for a fair and equal pay rise for Queensland's Police. Listen here and have your say.

  • why should we agree to qld polise who re complaining about their pay rise. When we as a qld population have never got a payrise in any trade, to equal the cpi. they neen to cry to someone who cares. if we cant get it why should they

  • Well now they ask for more money. If you get bad service as well rude smart attitude ,do we have to pay more for this. It's a real easy for my vote no to pay rise that simple good one anna

  • Queensland Police do not currently deserve a payrise. The manner in which they are treating the public they are supposed to serve is disgusting, they are serving themselves. When ringing a Queensland Police station to report an incident they make excuses about why they cannot attend, The free and easy manner in which they issue Infringement Notices is questionable. When you do question them, it is the Queensland Police branch that issues the Infringement Notice that gets to investigate; Conflict of Interest. They make decisions to suit themselves. When Queensland Police start doing their jobs properly, when they start treating the public with respect, when they start chasing the real crimes instead of falling over each other in the chase for easy targets, then the public may start thinking about whether Queensland Police deserve a pay rise.

  • BRING BACK THE ICAC ... Lets see how many police hang themselves this time with all the police corruption and the hide of them wanting pay rises. I got offered a bribe by a moree police officer and all that happened to him was a slap on the wrist and i have this in black and white on paper, BRING BACK THE ICAC FIRST, see who hangs themselves first and then see if they deserve it

  • The Police are lucky to get the crumbs swept off the table as a pay increase from a Labor Party that hates Police, who appoints civil libertarian judges and magistrates that hate police.
If the Govt could get away with it they would love to pay them less

  • The police should be paid what they are worth. Have you ever tried to get a policeman to help you at night - dont even try, they dont even answer their phones. As for on the highway, they are too busy skulking behind bushes booking people for being a little bit over the speed limit instead of chasing the idiots that swerve in and out of the lanes and cause serious accidents. I will support better pay for police when they do a better job!!!! When they are there when needed, that is when they should be paid accordingly. Most of them sit in the police station doing absolutely nothing at all from what I have witnessed. They hardly acknowledge you when you enter the station and get rid of you nice and smartly. They need to shape up before any increase in their pay is given. Good on you Anna Bligh, at last you are recognising good pay for a good days work, something the Qld Police know nothing about. They are too busy drug dealing on the North and South Coasts and make a lot of money on the side.
Shame on you Michael Smith for even bringing up this question. Dig a hole and bury yourself in it. Make it a pleasure to listen to 4bc and not have to turn it off once you come on.
