  • The reason given by Independently elected M.P's. in N.S.W. was the worth of the National Broadband Newwork to the people, not only of their electorates but also the bush in general. One given by the mouth from the south, the one full of verbal Diahhorea, spruiking everything honest only last week, was also the N.B.N. They would or could pull out of the agreement if he, Windsor and Co. suspected a case of Corruption from within the Labour Party. Well ladies and gentlemen, the former Finance Minister, Lindsay Tanner, that MP we thought incorruptible, he who resigned his commission when Rudd was knifed in the back, the man who left Parliament to spend more time with his young family. Guess what, this man (Lindsay Tanner) has accepted a position with a group LAZARDS who have been appointed as a Special Advisor to the Government on matters pertaining to the $43Kev. NBN. Lazards believe that Tanner will be a valuable asset for them; A reqirement with Government Departments is that it must have two Shareholders to legally represent them when making decisions involving large sums of money. Guess who those two ministers are? None other than the retired Lindsay Tanner and Mr. Stephen Conroy. These appointments made by, I believe, the sacked Prime Minister, Kevin Michael Rudd. No brown paper bags here, just a huge salary for Tanner to enjoy and keep he and his young family happy in retirement. I shouldn't believe that Malcolm Turnbull will have much trouble debunking this unaffordable National Network, which will become a huge White Elephant. Now we'll see how honest our N.S.W. and Tasmanian Independents are. And then there are the GREENS!!!!Its all there I found it, read it and weep.

  • I can see another train wreck coming with the roll out of this so called superfast NBN.Why should this program be any different to the BER or the Insulation programs. How on earth can this government be given any more chances to get their hands further into our pockets.Keep in mind they have hatched a deal with the Greens and they want to rob us further by way of death duties.

  • I can see that Gillard's new internet will take us backwards. Will it be like when sewage pipes were put out the front past your house and even though you were still on septic, you were charged for sewage? Their answer to this was, well, we put the pipes in and if you don't choose to get it connected to your house that's not our fault. I can't use a mobile phone so if they take my land line and I can't afford to get my house wired for the internet I will have nothing.

  • What happens to the NBN if it gets serious competition from Telstra (next generation wireless)?

Is the NBN exempt from operating under the same finacial regulations as any other listed company?

If the NBN cost anywhere near the expected starting price it would take decades for it to recoupe the initial capital investment.

The NBN is effectively going to have to be subsidised for much of its existence as selling it will not be an option because its market value is less than build cost.

  • Ask Julia this quetion as it is amongst the FAQ's on their iinet site.
Q.1. Will the speed slow down when the rest of Australia comes on line?
The website claims that it will be up to the RSP (retail service provider) to supply enough bandwith for all of its customers.
    yeah right!
And we all know that retailers always put service before price.
I smell a labour rat looking after its labour mates here.
Thats why putting the cables in the sewers probably appeals to them.
