  • @z, the Union's funds came from this Labor Government in the form of ~ Fair Work Education and Information program grants ~ courtesy Ms Gillard.

Total being $12,893,070-00 of which the Australian Council of Trade Unionsâ?? share was $2,549,023-00

I do believe that the biggest mistake John Howard made, with Work Choices, was to walk over to the dieing dog (the Unions) kick them and say, get up and defend yourselves. The un-fair dismissal laws did need to be rewritten though.

I myself have been in a position where because of another employee that the boss could not sack, we all had to work harder, while the sloth had a at-work retirement.

  • I VOTED FOR THE LIBERAL/NATIONAL PARTY HERE IN QUEENSLAND. FAMILY FIRST 2ND AS THEY GIVE THEIR PREFERENCES TO THE LNP. THE INDEPENDENT 3RD, GREENS 4TH AND LABOR LAST OF ALL.

HERE'S HOPING ABBOTT CAN BREATHE SOME FRESH AIR INTO AUSTRALIAN POLITICS AFTER ALL OF THE STALENESS THAT LABOR HAS MANAGED RECENTLY.

    VOTE 1 ABBOTT...............
    VOTE 1 LIBERALS.............

  • The most serious misjudgement this labor government made and continually made is it's arrogrance and obvious demeanour that the Australian voter is stupid and gullible, wrong. The main and obvious question of course that everyone will soon be focusing on is where did the new found abundant wealth of the not so long ago broke unions come from? Obviously a lot of focus will soon be put on the purses of the Industry Super Funds this is something that needs to have very close scrutiny for we don't want a repeat of the 60's and 70's of unions and superannuation. The reason is that if Labor and Kevin07 were not such and an obviously rotten to the core government the worst that this Great Australian Nation has had since federation. Then this situation that Mr Abbot siezed upon to stamp his name in history and I am sure that this will in time reflect that he was one of Australia's greatest and insightfully caring Prime Minister and that at the time of this country's greatest need at the threat of sovereign obliteration by these socialist radicals and through absolute courage he reminded us, as nation why it is so good to be the real Australians that we are. All the best Mr Abbot.

  • What a cool lady!

I am getting sick of women telling other women that Tony Abbott is some kind of sick, bigoted misogynist. That certainly implies that Margie and her daughters are daft and does absolutely nothing for the feminist cause.

  • Mrs. Abbott speaks with dignity rarely found in public life. She paints a picture of the real Tony Abbott very well, and answers many of the negatives he enjoys as simply untrue. She would make a classy First Lady.

  • It has not been mentioned enough that John Howard was voted out because people wanted change a new face. His government did not leave the country in debt. Well they had a change and now we get to pay for it.
I am a self funded retiree still paying taxes.
