See what happens when you introduce ideolgy to government?
The ideology become all important and both sides are guilty of this.
Abolish both parties and make telling the people a lie a crime and then and only then will we see honest good governence.
Untill then the status quo will prevail and people will quietly and obediently go about their business.
Much can be said for apathy, a polite way of saying cowered, cowardly and lazy...

For quite a long time, Lindsay Tanner was the only member of that ignorant disgusting mob of goons, who displayed any sense of being "fair dinkum".
With that pathetic effort of his, he quietly slipped into the quagmire of sludge of the rest of goons in government.
Very sad.
There is now no credibility whatsoever amongst them.Wobblyone Tuesday 25 May, 2010 - 11:20 AM -

So the Minister of Finance can strongly defend the merits of a North Carolina research paper but he does not know the rate of taxation our Mining Industry, yes, the core industry of our nation, is paying? Fail minister! Fail!

Now I know why many interviewers don't bother to press for an actual answer to their questions from pollie, they know it'll be just a waste of time - they never get a straight answer. Hardly surprising the government only chooses those sources that back their current belief no matter how obscure and irrelevant. Clearly the department with the actual data doesn't paint a picture that supports their objectives. Labor has shown again they never let the truth get in the way of a 'good' story. Tanner sounded utterly pathetic as he sidestepped a basic yes or no question with his suggestions that the ATO was the treasurer's department. He weaves and dodges nearly as well as Rudd.
