Justice for a Killer Queensland-style

gabe

The Queensland Government is not happy with its achievements in Queensland, now it wants to export its views on law and order to Alabama.

Adults who live in Alabama know the law there.   Gabe Watson is a citizen of that state.   He knew the law in Alabama when he increased the life insurance on his new wife Tina’s life.   He knew the law there he had her make him the beneficiary of her life insurance policy.

He knew the law in Alabama when he took bolt-cutters to the chains that Tina’s family had used to attach flowers and mementos to Tina’s grave.   And a properly instructed jury in Alabama may be able to form a view about what else was on his mind as he planned the diving trip in which he killed his new wife.

Queensland authorities hold much physical and other evidence given to them by the police in Alabama.   Now authorities in Alabama want it back.   But Queensland Attorney General Cameron Dick says they can’t have it unless Alabama adopts Queensland’s morality on the sentence for Watson.

So what next for Gabe Watson?    If Alabama doesn’t agree to change its laws to suit Queensland Labor and their supporters, what happens when his sentence is finished later this year?   Will he be granted asylum in Australia?

The law in Alabama is a matter for Alabama.   They’ve not yet commenced proceedings against Watson.   He’s not convicted.   This is a very early stage in the proceedings for Queensland to refuse to co-operate.

Attorney General Dick stretches things when he says that he’s made this call to protect Queenslanders who find themselves in similar circumstances.   How could a Queenslander ever be in those circumstances when we don’t have the death penalty to be brought home for?   And can you imagine a 3rd government, say in Beijing or Jakarta, saying “oh we better deal with this Queenslander softly, their government did the right thing by Gabe Watson when Alabama wanted him.”

We have no business in preaching about law and order to others.   It sets a terrible precedent when it comes to co-operation at a police level.    We are denying a developed, Western jurisdiction access to evidence that it wants to use in the prosecution of an offender wanted for the murder of one of its own citizens.   That will surely come back to bite us.

And in all of this, as is generally the case with this government, the rights of the evil-doer come first.   No talk here about the disgraced memory of Cindy and Tommy’s daughter Tina.   No talk about justice for the family.   As long as her killer is looked after, justice has been done, Queensland Government style.

  • Peter Gauci, thank you for telling it like it really is! I attended the forum as previously mentioned and spoke about the judicial corruption affecting my unrepresented son in a human rights complaint on school bullying in the Queensland Anti Discrimination Tribunal. Attorney General Cameron Dick told me on camera he would look into my complaint, but his office has continued to be incommunicado and refuses to return my calls. So Mr Dick lied to me when he tried to placate me on camera. In any case he did not like what I had to say on camera at all and walked away, but not before I told him and the surrounding media what my issue was all about. My local MP, John Mickel the Speaker of Parliament refuses to table my complaint in Parliament and has denied us electoral representation. He ordered me ejected when I raised this issue as mentioned in Armed Police Eject Mother From Queensland Parliament (link below).

Given this situation I see no other option but to stage a protest in front of his office to draw attention to this high level political cover up, obstruction of justice and lack of electoral representation. The video clip by the Brisbane Times http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/top-cop-steps-in-to-protect-attorneygeneral-20100317-qfd9.html shows an edited scene, where I raised the issue of judicial corruption and forum photo no. 2 http://www.4bc.com.au/feelsafephotos shows my billboard message: Bullied schoolboy wants independent investigation on judicial corruption.

  • QLD trying to impose judicial values on anyone else is a joke.

This is a state where the government can and will break the law, and in the unlikely event anyone who cares makes it past all the judicial corruption to win a case against them the government can change the relevant legislation and retroactively enact it to make their actions legal.

  • BAZZA are you really suggesting Cameron Dick is not a politician and not as powerful as the Alabama Attorney General? Your claim our judiciary, is independent is untrue. My son and I suffered greatly at the hands of abusive, biased and politically appointed judges. The American judiciary is elected.

Have you read any of my citizen journalist articles relating to our case? Government continues to deny us and prevents attention to our case by dogmatically refusing to acknowledge and publicly comment on our very grave, documented and corroborated judicial corruption allegations. My 4BC radio call: https://publish.indymedia.org.uk/media/2009/08/435571.mp3

We are grateful to Michael Smith and Radio 4BC for allowing us to tell the truth here. And I am sure so are many other citizens and victims, including Cindy and Tommy Thomas.

Keep it up Michael! We look forward to the Law and Order forum!

  • Karen Friday 12 February, 2010 - 12:52 PM – You know to victims like the grieving parents of Tina Thomas, your last few sentences (platitudes) in particular may very well be offensive and hurtful. - ...one can't force change one can only be an instrument OF change. It all begins with the individual.
Wnat a better world? Be a better person -

These are good people who raised their daughters well and farewelled Tina on her honeymoon and trip of a lifetime. They probably hoped that one day they would have sweet little grandchildren to love and spoil. Little did they know what the husband, who was supposed to love, cherish and protect her had planned for her all along.

I agree with Wobblyone, your posts do not make sense. Sorry.

  • Ha Michael,
You really make me laugh. You have listed some great examples of co-operation between international Police forces. The Bali Bomings was a multi-national investigation, as was the anti pedo investigation. However, you speak of a modern western legal Jurisdiction. Alabama??? you know that the state AG there is a politician right? He controls the judiciary, and the police. Think on that I know that undrneath your neo-conservatisim, you are an educated person. In Queensland our AG is responsible for the statute laws and the administration of the legal system. The administration of not the running of. Our Judicary are independant. The American Judicary are not. As for extraditing a man to face possible death, well it is enlightened nations that believe that the State has no righ to kill its citizens. The USA has the death penality and has the largest prision population in the worl. Violent crime rates much higher than ours. Where is the detterent there. Please Michael end this pointless attack on Our AG.
    It makes you look petty.

  • Karen,
Your a fool keep watching movies if that is what you believe, good often fails. Well at least in the Qld justice system, unless the media get involved offenders get a slap on the wrist and told there a naughty boy.

The only thing pepople in this state go to jail for is stealing (from the goverment) or driving unlicenced.

This has become one messed up state and there are no simple answers (alot of the blame rests with the state goverment, the dpp and the commissioner of police who has become a goverment puppet).
