Jacqui Scott

4BC Drive talks to Jacqui Scott, a brave mother who currently has two sick daughters with separate illnesses. One daughter is being treated according to her illness, but the government is denying the drugs that might help the other daughter survive. There is a petition to sign - have your say.

  • I just heard about the $ 1.1 billion that the Labour Government has left from the first home buyers scheme! Surely some of this money could be used to fund Soliris for the critically ill patients with PNH?

  • Minister Nicola Roxon you and your Corrupt Labor Govt have spent Millions on telling the Australian Public how good you are, however you refuse to help Mrs Jacqui Scott, save the lives of her two daughters by supplying the drug that will keep then alive.
If one of the Trough Swilling Politicians were to be affected, money would be flowing unrestricted.

  • Mark, Jacqui,Jenny and all the other suffers of this disease my heart goes out to you.
I have already emailed Nicola Roxon directly may I suggest all the other bloggers do the same as well as signing the petition.

  • There is a saying that you need to master the ordinary to achieve the extraordinary.

How the hell can we even expect this bunch of less than ordinary pollies to achieve anything?

It seems an ordinary human reaction to simply supply the necessities of life to those in need.

But this lot have no compuction in wasting our money on the unnecessary.

By refusing to help this family shouldn't they be held responsible for (God forbid) the demise of this young woman. Aren't they then as guilty as Patel??

  • I'm another sufferer of this condition, and apart from it not being funded, the thing that angers me most about this bloody government is the underhanded and deceitful way they went about refusing to fund it. Clearly Mr Swan has told Roxon that funding this isn't as electorally pleasing as spending money in other areas. "Find an out for us" he said. Roxon has then, just before budget release, announced a change of criteria for funding drugs under the Life Saving Drugs Program. " Cant fund it" she said, "it needs to be re-assessed against the new criteria". ( It met the old criteria ) This drug is magnificent. To say "we'll fund it next year if it meets the new criteria" is just toying with peoples lives. People will die waiting for this drug and all the government cares about is getting re-elected. They are vile.
