Buying Votes
Apparently there’s plenty of money for the Federal Government to dish out in an election year.
I am trying to get my head around this.
Renee Viellaris reports in today’s Courier Mail that “Bored Queensland teenagers and those dealing with their sexuality will share in almost $900,000 in Rudd Government grants to stop them binge drinking.
Remember when a million dollars was a lot of money?
The Health Minister Nicole Roxon has today announced 4 projects across Queensland “to end the carnage linked to alcohol-fuelled violence.
A north Queensland aboriginal group in Yarrabah, population 3,000, appealed for money. They said their youth were binge drinking because they were bored.
$250,000 cash will go to the Gindaja Treatment and Health Centre for a two year project to provide dances and sports for youth.
In Brisbane the Open Doors Youth Centre will get $213,900 to reduce binge drinking among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth. The project includes drafting a manual that will include information on hosting drug and alcohol-free events. The project will be run by Open Doors Youth Service at Fortitude Valley. I can give them the advice on how to host a drug and alcohol-free event for free. Don’t have grog or drugs.
And how many binge-drinking gay, bisexual or transgender youth do we have in Brisbane?
Everyone has their own barrow to push and each one of us would have our own response as to where the government could spend its money more wisely. But it’s hard to reconcile this $900,000 for the bored or young people confused about their sexuality who reckon they drink too much, with the news this week that Bravehearts (the child protection organisation) has had its government funding cut.

Last time the Pensioners and Afflicted, the Carers and Veterans received an increase from this Labour Government, the respective State Premiers, with the States Blight at the head of the grab, immediately put forward increases in State Government levies and Taxes; these increases immediately negated any Pension Increase so awarded.
I warned of it then, reported and reminded you when it happened.Remember this was last year.
So my fellow bloggers, what now with this latest increase to take effect from the end of March. How long till Blight and her fellow Premiers relieve us of this latest rise in Pensions!!!!Rest assured it will happen, they won't be able to keep their hands off it....The Thieving Bastards.Phil of Springwood Sunday 14 March, 2010 - 10:00 AM -
To all the unenlightened out there in blogland. Question?? Does our little Kevin Rudd, standing naked before us, sprouting "Forgive us our sins - we need a darned good kick up the backside - we haven't been doing our job properly - we haven't kept our promises; do admissions as these remind you of anyone. Gone from our shores, but not forgetten. Someone kept in the background in one of those jobs for the boys, but costing us $375K. Those of you who answered
"Peter Beattie" stand up - we applaud you.Everytime Beattie and/or his Government were in trouble, the spruiker would come out with an utterance similar to this. Now retired and living a life of luxury at out expense in the good ole U.S of A, Beattie is obviously the Queensland Connections advisor and mentor. Funny that I had heard on the grapevine that Beattie was writing speeches for Krudd and the Bliar. looks like the bastard is back - not that he ever left. Stay angry and use your vote wisely.

Skit for the Day. Buying Votes.
Labour had a little Kevvie,
Whose hair was white as snow,
Everywhere little Kevvie went,
The Press was sure to go.
They followed him to Ch. 10 one day,
He'd lost his gloss n sheen
Gotta get it back again, he
said,
I'm not as popular as I have been! How sad it is that the Prime Minister of this great Country has to go on a Comedy skit to try to redeem some of that popularity he has lost. Only proves what I have been saying for quite some time now. The man is a fool, and lacks what it takes to lead this Nation.
The electorate have finally seen through him for what he really is. No more than a beaurecrat in a shiny suit with silver hair. Better phone "Hawkey". You bloody fool.Phil of Springwood Tuesday 23 February, 2010 - 9:19 AM -
I agree with you Sue but the unfortunate fact is that alot of the people that vote for these clowns aren't that bright. The problem is that while they are bending down picking up the shiny new coins that Kevvy is throwing on the ground, they are missing the fact that he is borrowing the money to throw on the ground in the first place and will one day (very soon) need to be paid back. You can also guess who will be paying it back, it will be the working men and women of Australia NOT alot of the people who voted for these clowns.

Sue 20.02.10. Many of us out here in Blogland continue to warn the Australian People of the evil in this Prime Minister and some of his Cabinet. Socialism - next step Communism - has taken control. It is imperative that we make the people subservient to the cause!!!. Since the appointment of Elmer Fudd as our First Minister we have seen how a government should not act rather than what is the best thing to do for our Country. Rudd through his Ministers has borrowed billions of $Dollars from China and squandered it on feelgood enterprises which turn out to be nothing more than an exercise in buying votes. Starting with the $900 bonus, the Childrens Bonus, increases in Pensions for all - this stolen by the Labour State Governments with increases in Registration, Water, electricity etc. - Assembly halls for schools, insulation for homes; on and on it goes. Now we have begun to pay; the latest joke being the insulation of homes. From this pay later gung ho gift no one is prepared to accept responsibility for the stuff ups. Shoddy workmanship has lead to deaths, fires and all have now to be checked to ensure installation is safe. Advice today that the Minister was warned of possible consequences and safety breaches. No one is responsible at Government level. I promised myself that I would not use strong language, but I have been forced and I'm sorry if I offend some - but what scum, what swill governs our Country.

The insulation scheme being scrapped:
It seems to me that the problems that have arisen from the ill fated scheme were caused by the Rudd government's haste in pushing the concept out onto the public.Clearly they've learned nothing as they've scrapped the scheme also in haste and have put so many businesses in jeopardy. What will all those workers that were told yesterday they are no longer employed do now? How will the suppliers of the insulation products, perhaps stocked to the eyeballs with material, keep their heads above water unil the new scheme commences in June?
Act in haste repent at leisure? I hope voters will punish the Rudd government at the next election.Sue Saturday 20 February, 2010 - 6:33 AM
