@William Guthridge and angry, you are correct, a vote for the Greens is really a vote for Kevin Rudd and Labor due to the undemocratic preferential voting system. In a fair race the first person past the post wins, not so with PVS where preferences decide who wins.
I contacted a young Greens senator after I saw an article about her advocating and posing in front of a detention center for illegal immigrants. In her bio she said she was a strong defender of both domestic and foreign human rights, but she ignored all my emails, phone calls and was not interested in advocating for the human rights of an Australian citizen. So much for being a strong defender of human rights for Australians. I do not see the Greens or any other political party as a viable alternative. Only Independents actually represent the democratic wishes of their electorate and do not have to bow and toe the party lie.
I am convinced Independents for the people, from the people and by the people are the electorates and Australias only hope for true reform and long overdue direct democracy via citizen initiated referenda on demand. I have detailed this further in my citizen journalist article and also how my own local Labor MP, John Mickel, Speaker of Parliament continues to deny my civil right to electoral representation under the Westminster system of political accountability.

If anyone is thinking of voting for the Greens, they should be encouraged to read their policies. This will cure you of such thoughts unless you are completely irrational. If you are discouraged by the major parties, write to them and air your opinion, but do not waste your vote on the Greens. Listen to the interview with Michael.
