BER report
4BC Drive is joined by Brad Orgill who was appointed, by Julia Gillard, the head of the Building the Education Revolution taskforce. His interim report has just been released and it advises that projects that have not been committed should not be undertaken with the BER project.

It was no better than the pink batts program. Apart from the extra fees (that they admit), the work attracted the usual flood of fly-by-nighters that resulted in poor contract management, payment defaults to subbies. It just reflects the panic and rush of blood that characterises this dud government.

@Sickoshit...
Yeah. Me too mate...
Go to http://thewobblyone.wordpress.com/
and see what Joolya is going to do to education.
and just for your edification.
When the Labour Party was established, it was idealogically set up to protect the workers.. the labourers who built this country. Labour is work you fathead and the word has been butchered by your boofhead bully boys to hide the fact that they are supposed to represent the workers. All the workers do for the Unions these days is bankroll them.Wobblyone Monday 16 August, 2010 - 2:01 PM -
No waste - What planet is he on??? I know of a school which have recieved a new shed $ 240,000 - if I ordered the same shed $ 60,000 - The school didnt want the shed. Could they direct the money somewhere else? NO. had to have the shed. No waste my arse!!!!!!!!!!

TWICE A YEAR IS HARDLY "ABANDONING" THE COUNTRY. IT'S PROBABLY LESS THAN ABBOTT SPENDS ON HIS BIKEATHONS!
And which is better pedalling for your own glory or seeking to do something global through the UN?
P.S. It's LABOR mate. Nothing to do with having a baby.
And the only thing upsetting you about KRUDD being stabbed in the back is that it's giving your boy a run for his money. Mr Economic genius, that is!Sickoshite Wednesday 11 August, 2010 - 4:59 PM -
Maybe now that KRUDDY has achieved his great ambition...
That of abandoning his country and joining the UN (The New World Order) Committee on Sustainability (of whatever)
.... Joolya better watch her back. And the Labour Party bully boys too.
He doesn't need you any more Joolya... and come to think of it, he doesn't need to play political games any more either.
hmmmmm
Go get 'em KRUDDY. You owe the back stabbing lying SOS nothing.Wobblyone Wednesday 11 August, 2010 - 12:41 PM -
Re rewarding teaching staff for improved performances. The world is devisive enough now. Please do not start pitting teacher against teacher. The morale will go down quicker than you can implement the idea. My daughter is a special needs teacher. How can she be judged against academic records? And children from disfunctional families are only just surviving in the schools. Why not reward a teacher who develops self esteem in their students? And that will not necessarily mean higher school grades. We need carpenters, mechanics, plumbers etc. They do NOt have to have top grades at school to be competent with their hands and logical.
I am very serious about knowledge of the outcomes. It will mean less incentive to become teachers, because not all teaching positions are equal. Please use some sense and DO NOT proceed with this idea. I have seen divisiveness in the workplace because one boss rewards his staff for not much and another does not give out rewards. It becomes another way for a school principle to loook after his own interests ie 'sell' his school on academic records. It is not the only criteria that makes for good citizens of the future. It will also lead to more truanting as those unable to keep up will feel more inadequate than ever. It is not a good measure of a successful society if the only measure is academic. I hope you have the courtesy to repsond. I am at work and would otherwise phone in. Thank you for reading this. I know I speak for many , many people.Jeanette Rich Tuesday 10 August, 2010 - 9:40 AM
