Australia’s Dumbest Radio Host
The more I talk to people about the variously described "greenhouse effect", "global warming" and "climate change" the more the discussions seems theological rather than scientific.
There’s a Creed that says humans are warming the planet by burning stuff and releasing carbon dioxide. For many people The Creed can’t be questioned. It is received wisdom. It generally takes one or two sentences to reiterate The Creed at the start of weighty documents like Ross Garnaut’s report on climate change. Then you go off with a heap of conclusions based on that unquestionable premise.
Many of our politicians and commentators are keen to shut down debate about The Creed. The Courier Mail’s website carried a blog last Friday titled "4BC – is this guy the dumbest radio host in Australia?" - Link here
I won’t argue the case for or against the proposition that climate change has anthropogenic roots. And I won’t dissect the ad-hominem blog The Courier Mail published.
But God help us if we ever did swallow the line that debate is shameless, reckless or embarrassing.

Irrespective of whether there is any truth behind the Carbon-Cult's claims of global warming, I fail to see how charging me more to cook dinner is going to help. If they were serious and more imaginative, they could start to look at rationing our power use and curbing non-essential use of fuels. They could easily start with banning all car-racing, which would have to be the biggest waste of resources I can think of (it also might have a positive effect on hooning, just like banning smoking in public places has reduced smoking rates).
We were effectively stopped from gardening during the water crisis (oops, there was no crisis) so I don't see a problem with the end of motor racing.
If they used the money it would cost to administer a plan like the trading scheme and spent it instead on solar hot water systems for every household we could meet their targets.
I'm appalled to think that the ETS could be forced upon us with the majority of the population having no idea of what it will cost us all.

I sincerely hope that Graham Readfern, who is obviously a fellow of strong convictions, does not:-
eat meat.
travel on aeroplanes.
drive a vehicle.
use any electricity not produced from solar/wind.
wear any material produced from carbon intensive industries.
reside an a dwelling containing bricks/steel(bricks/steel produced from carbon intensive industry).
etc.........
Otherwise would have to be considered a HYPOCRITE!

This Graham Readfearn (a so called journalist) character is a Leftist/Marxist!
I wonder what real qualifications he possesses and what extent of life experiences he has had?
He is clearly one of the fanatical green(RED UNDER THE SKIN) followers of the church of Al Gore!
Gore is obviously his SUPERHERO!
Normal people have Batman, Spiderman etc.
I wonder if he has some interests in a carbon trading company?
He certainly is of the same ilk as Rudd/Wong, probably trained at the same propaganda school even.
He reminds me of the Nazi Gobles who had the German people convinced that they were winning the Second World War, despite the fact that the Red Army was on the doorstep!
IN OTHER WORDS A REAL TWIT!!John Friday 27 November, 2009 - 4:52 PM
