Terrible statistics that hide terrible physical and psychological damages and of course, many deaths.
One perfect way of preventing 'pre-loading' by our young, is to institute a maximum on street blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08. This is the level where a greatly increased chance of pedestrian deaths and injuries kick in.
It sits below the known BAC level of 011-13 associated with acts of alcohol fuelled violence.
$250 to $280 per point above .08 will change behaviour, save lives and save a massive amount of human tragedy, the both Anthony and Ian need to deal with on a daily basis.
A BAC level makes the user think before they drink. It makes them receptive to educational messages because it makes such messages relevant to their lives.
I suppose we'll have to wait til a prominent politician loses a child to this epidemic before they take things seriously...Mike Cockburn Monday 9 August, 2010 - 6:03 PM -
Sheriff Joe Arpaio where are you? I am in Wellington Point and I know of lots of elderly who barricade themselves inside from Friday to Sunday nights.
Basically until Australia has a party to educate the wigged ones [like the French did to remove the aristocracy] the lawful majority will be told to eat cake as they starve because the cost of locking oneself behind bars is so expensive. When I was a lad, the crims were behind bars and not the victims.
