Achieving family not wanted

plane

Take a listen to a Sunshine Coast mother who has been told her family will have to go home to England because they are no longer wanted in this country. Michael Smith talks with Kerry Fulluck.

Blog comments Your Say

  • If it is so frickin' easy for boat people why doesn't Kerry and her family buy a boat?

  • Look, this BS about turning the boats around is just Abbott talk. What really happens is this:
You intercept the boat, interview them briefly, make sure they have fuel and food, and confiscate any weapons and navigation aids. Then attach a tow line and tell them you are towing them back to Australia. This will calm them down and make them happy. Then you do a wide circle and start to head a dogs leg North. When 110klms inside international waters cut the line, preferable at night. And then hit 30 knots South.

  • It's a sad day when we kick people out of the country for no good reason and at the same time put illegal immigrants in to hotels. I have no problem paying taxes to look after poor refugees but these people seem to have money.

No whispering Palms on the beach for this Sunshine Coast family, why not try the Virginia Palms Motel. All expenses paid plus free burka.

  • 97% of illegal immigrants fly into this country. Why is everybody so obsessed with "boat people"?

  • @Cassie, I will say this so you might understand (even though I doubt it). The Howard Government stopped the boats by making it less attractive to the people smugglers to put people in the boats in the first place, then if they did actually come here, most NEVER set foot on Australian soil, people then got the message that we were NOT a soft touch... unlike your mates in the Labor party. What I want to know is how ANYBODY could vote for a party that has put us in that much debt that it will take years and years to pay back. Just remember the last time Labor were in power it took 10 YEARS to pay back the debt and then it took Rudd and Gillard just over 2 years to destroy the economy AGAIN. Wake up Cassie before it's too late and the rest of us are made to pay for the STUPIDITY of people like yourself.

  • @Cassie. Now I'd like you to stop and have a bit of a think about this. Flotillas of Boats are flooding our waters because the Australian Labour Party have dismantled previously proven "Boat Stoppers" legislated by the Coalition Government of John Howard. Its not racist to want these illegal immigrants (not asylum seekers - as the bleeding hearts would have us believe) stopped. Just want them to play by the rules of entry. From 3 boats to 168 must ring some bells in your sweet little mind. HELLO IS ANYONE HOME.
