$25 million for the Taliban

Posted by: Michael Smith | 26 February, 2010 - 1:46 PM
Taliban

Remember the Rudd Government's $25 million cash for Taliban Terrorists? The Rudd Government is borrowing $25M to hand-over to individual Taliban members as an Australian-taxpayer funded "inducement" to lay down their arms.

Colonel Gaddafi has just given us a great look at what happens when you appease terrorists who are driven by Islamist zealotry.

Last August the UK repatriated the Muslim terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi back home to Libya on "compassionate" grounds. He returned to triumph in Tripoli, accompanied by Saif al-Islam Gadhafi, son of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

The spin from the UK government said that al-Megrahi was terminally ill with just weeks to live. He's now living in Tripoli 4 months after he was supposed to be dead.

Well Colonel Gadhafi hasn't got as much compassion for the infidel West as the UK had for his Islamist bomber who murdered 270 people over Lockerbie in 1988.

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi called on Thursday for jihad against Switzerland because the country's people voted to ban the construction of minarets in the country.

"It is against unbelieving and apostate Switzerland that jihad ought to be proclaimed by all means," Gadhafi said during a speech in the Mediterranean coastal city of Bengazi to mark the birthday of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.

"Jihad against Switzerland, against Zionism, against foreign aggression is not terrorism," Kadhafi said.

"Any Muslim around the world who has dealings with Switzerland is an infidel (and is) against Islam, against Mohammed, against God, against the Koran," the leader told a crowd of thousands in a speech broadcast live on television.

In a November 29 referendum, Swiss voters approved by a margin of 57.5 percent a ban on the construction in their country of minarets, the tower that are a signature part of mosques.

Can you every make a deal with Islamist terrorists, driven by an ideology that says non-believers are infidels who should be killed?

$25 million from the Australian taxpayer to be handed over to Islamists in the Taliban? No thanks.

  • I agree Richard. We also won't become a target for terrorist nutters, if we mind our own business.

An influential Muslim scholar has issued a global ruling against terrorism and suicide bombing.

Has that been covered in our media? I doubt it.

  • Yes, I often wonder who is advising this 'so called prime minister', Rudd the Dud,or does he make these ridiculous decisions himself.Twenty five million to the Taliban for them to buy more weapons to kill and maim our troops.
This Prime Minister and his Government are starting to really concern me.
What more damage can they do before they are dispatched from Government!!!

  • Shez,
Maybe your right, maybe we shouldn't get involved, so when the refugees from these war torn regions look for asylum, we should also say "Go away , we don't want to get involved, Go find someone who cares.

  • To be fair Howard should never have sent our brothers and sisters to go fight his war in Afghanistan in the first place.

Still doesn't make it right throwing money at the enemy.
