John Malkovich, is he the best villain ever?
This Sunday night I am going to be talking great movie villains with Jim Sherlock.
In particular we are going to discuss the actors that can best handle the bad guy roles.
I am an unabashed John Malkovich fan.
There is just something about him that is so very different.
He has played memorable villain roles including a would be assassin in “In the line of Fire” and as the deranged Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom in that mostly unremarkable 90’s movie “Con-Air”.
He has that spooky look that makes you believe he really could be a deranged murder without too much pushing.
So I am lodging my vote early for Malkovich as the best screen villain of all time.
Others that I am sure will rate a mention including Anthony Hopkins as “Hannibal Lector”, Anthony Perkins and his portrayal of quiet motel keeper “Norman Bates” and who could forget Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original ‘Terminator”?
So let me know who you would hate to come across in dark alley.
You can leave a comment here or send me an email jhelmes@4bc.com.au and be sure to join me Sunday night from 7pm when we talk movies with Jim.
