Julia Gillard

Graham Richardson, political analyst extraordinaire, chats to Greg Cary about the latest incarnation of Mark Latham as a journalist. He also addresses the outcome of the debate with Julia Gillard earlier this week.

Blog comments Your Say

  • In 2008 Robert McClelland told us how great Kevin Rudd was and how he would introduce long overdue 21st century human rights to Australia and bring us into line with Western democracy:

The Rudd Government (TRG) has a strong human rights agenda and is committed to promoting respect for human rights and the rule of law as cornerstones of our system of government and our society. A key part of upholding the rule of law at home is having a clear policy position on international human rights instruments. These instruments reflect the values of humanity in the 21st century. TRG is committed to re-engaging with the international community to advance human rights. We have nothing to hide and much to embrace. TRG is committed to clearly and explicitly implementing our international obligation... As we work to again take a leading role on the international human rights stage, we are also working to ensure domestically we have a human rights system that does not just work to redress discrimination but that prevents abuses in the first place. http://bit.ly/ak0lDr

Yet government suddenly decided they do not want to revisit a bill of rights until the end of their second term in office! Was that not a lie then?

Fellow Australians I urge you, follow Mark Lathams lead. Do not give your consent to another three years of political malpractice. Help turn Australia around, return power to the people of this once great country and ensure we get the long overdue right to political self determination as per Article 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1976) signed by Australia, but repeatedly breached by the political elite, the government.

Political self-determination also means the right to citizen initiated referenda ON DEMAND! COME ON AUSSIE!

  • According to Richo then... Ms Gillard was only interested in a 2nd debate because she was behind in the polls and knows it.
