There are already hundreds of homes in SEQ (1000's throughout Australia) that have fibre to home. I believe $43Bn is enough money to create some 15 million connections. Given that private enterprise will be paying some of the tab, I'm sure they and Govt will drive a good deal with their contractors.

Think about it please.
I love high speed connection and smooth data flow as much as the next guy but just think about it.43 BILLION DOLLARS.
divide by 8.6 million Taxpayers
= $5000 each. One thing that I have learned in my 30 or so years that I have been involved in computers is that no matter how fast computers have become, they have never become fast enough.

It seems to me there must be an alternative to becoming the worlds most up-to-date in internet technology. Why do we really need this wonderful, fast never-imagined thing to become part of our lives when we could achieve the same state of being the worlds most up-to-date in our health system. Imagine what the same amount of money could accomplish in our lives, not just us, bust our childrens children too. There are so many people at home and in hospital RIGHT NOW who could lead a much better quality of life (or maybe just life itself) but for the lack of funding. I am sure to those people, having a fast internet would be way down the bottom of their list. I understand that the rural population are at a disadvantage but they are also at the same disadvantage with their own health as well.

We seem to be followers in communication tecnology.
We should aim to lead the world.

Well no matter what they claim about the speed of the broadband plans on offer is the fact that with the Coalition you will be able to pay the electricity bills to be able to use it, not so with the tax grabbing Labor.
