gloombusters

God help us if we hear one more thing about the doom and gloom!

The heart of this show is to inform you entertainingly, and entertain informatively.

One bit of that that gives me great pleasure is to see our advertisers get connected with customers.

And I love that sense of optimism that comes from business owners and from people making purchases from them.

Now various people around the place have done such a good job of alerting us to the gloom ahead that the unemployment queues are growing.   But I’m sure that there are plenty of people around who have work to offer – and one thing that this show can do is to provide a gloom-busting connection point.

If you’ve got a job to offer, drop me a note – we’ll have this blog publish the blog entries – and put people in touch with potential employers.   Go to it Brisbane!

  • Hi Smithy. I am 22 year old fully qualified carpenter. My last emplopyer has run out of work. I finished my apprenticeship in March 2008. I have all my own tools and transport. I am experienced in both residential & commercial as well as renovations. I have an ABN but have not yet done the study for BSA license to be a contractor. Prepared to travel to get work. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • Hi Smithy

I have a full time position on the Gold Coast - it's temporary to back fill our young labourer who's taking extended sick leave at present. But, it might be of help to someone for approximately four weeks.

Duties are keeping building sites clean, picking up equipment and materials and taking to our sub contractors and some general maintenance type work. We will provide a vehicle, phone, petrol etc and the standard conditions of employment apply. Immediate start if possible. Obviously they'd need a current driver's licence.

Also, if you could put us in touch with Neil who is looking for a small builder to do his small warehouse in the Valley that would be great.

    Thanks
