Bella the Future Fund was established by the Howard government to provide for superannuation for Commonwealth bureaucrats. The Commonwealth, like the states and territories, had been an irresponsible employer. It had provided its employees with super entitlements, but had not funded those entitlements. In other words, it had been running a Ponzi scheme. According to its annual report - there is about $73 Bill in there at present. Plenty more than when Costello managed the fund. There are also other nation building funds too but have far less $. We need to bolster these and build a sovereign wealth fund that will do more than just pay the super of Commonwealth public servants!! What say you Bella?

@just me; you asked, Where is the sovereign wealth fund put aside from the mining windfall?
If you are referring to the Future Fund created by Peter Costello under the John Howard Government, I suggest you ask Wayne Swan what he has done with it under the Rudd / Gillard Government.

Good bye toyota and others, you go home after ripping us off and the government handouts cease. Now Dick Smith they are going and leaving the skilled workforce behind and also the tooled up factories how about we start producing Australian vehicles for Australian conditions I am sure the government would support the venture as would Australians.
