Study: Lap band surgery works

fat

An Australian study shows hundreds of people who've undergone lap band surgery have been able to maintain significant weight loss, more than a decade after undergoing the procedure.

More than three-thousand patients who had the surgery in Australia between 1994 and 2011 took part in the study, published in the journal, Annals of Surgery.

More than 700 people who underwent the surgery at least 10 years ago have maintained an average weight loss of 26 kilograms. Researchers say the study adds weight to the claim that lap band surgery is a safe and effective long-term solution for obesity.

  • Saw this photo in an email with the caption "Life of Pie".
Seems to have worked remarkable well with a number of people I know plus obviously across a broader section on people and if it helps people lose weight it must be a good thing.
