Ian McFarlane, Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources, talks to 4BC Mornings about the Opposition's discontent with the announced mining tax. Ian reports that whilst the major mining companies might be happy, the smaller mining organisations cannot afford this tax.

  • He held his own with you Greg, no trouble at all. It is easy to put a case when that case makes sense. As the old saying goes "Arose by any other name, is still a rose." Well it stands to reason that a tax by any other name is still a tax. Why are you now applauding the ALP for fixing something they broke in the first place. I suppose you are going to laud them as heros when they do a reverse back-flip on all the other election promises. We don't all have a three day loop in our heads.
