Julia Gillard creates history

Posted by: 4bc.com.au | 24 June, 2010 - 9:48 AM
pm,

Julia Gillard has become Australia's first female prime minister, after Kevin Rudd stood down. Miss Gillard was selected unopposed and Wayne Swan selected as deputy prime minister.

Blog comments Your Say

  • @Wobbly.
    Totally agree.
    Banks are blood sucking leeches.
They raise interest rates to slow the economy. That would have to be the biggest con this century.
Interest rates are just a profits tax on small business.
If small business starts to recover. They jack up the interest rates.(to slow the economy LOL)
How is this different from what the Government wants to do to the mining industry.

  • Julie baby... You won't and shouldn't win in your money grab from the Mining Industry.
    BUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shift tack and HIT THE BANKING INDUSTRY. They produce nothing for this country, but suck BILLIONS from all the people who can ill afford it... For the benefit of the likes of Malcolm ALLBULL....
Sick the banks Julie baby and you'll find enough money to cover all your mistakes.

  • And it is patently obvious that KRUDDY did NOT STAND DOWN.
The Union thugs... (his bosses) COMMANDED HIM TO LIE DOWN LIKE A DOG AND LET THEIR OTHER FEMALE LACKEY stand unopposed.
Wouldn't they all get a collective kick in the arse if Australians suddenly got brains and refused to vote for her.
    WOOOOOTTTTT !!!!!!!!!

  • When the LNP eventually wins an election in Queensland, they will have little room to move on things like the water rates. We are lumbered with paying back the hundreds of millions of dollars wasted on the Traverston Dam fiasco & Billions on the desalination white elephant to name but two. It will take years to sort the mess out, without having much opportunity to implement new policies. By the time it is sorted, the electors will be again tired of austerity & put Labor back in. It is a sickening cycle that we see federally & at state level.

  • Smithy, how can we get the David Gibson some more airtime and get him promoted to Leader of the opposition.
He sounds the the man to me, an ex Army chap too.

  • It's extremely difficult to imagine that this country could sink into the poop any further, but then you only have to look at Gillard and listen to the lying s.o.s. to realise that they can still find garbage to feed us.
And now the idiot, after crucifying KRUDD (with the help of those fine upstanding Union HOODS) tells the KRUDD that he's invaluable and will be king dick on her team, if she's elected.
What a nightmare. What a lovely example of womanhood to set the standard for our kids. SHOOOOOOTTTTT.
