Forum for Food Security
4BC Drive: Gary Hardgrave was present at the forum held in Oakey last night protesting the destruction of Farmland to make way for the mining industry. Over 1000 angry protestors, mostly farmers, attended the forum, but a lack of political representation caused upset.
Rachel Nolan, Minister for Natural Resources, joins Gary Hardgrave to discuss the situation in the Darling Downs.

Minister Rachel Nolan is talking drafting laws to protect "strategic cropping land" from mining as in coal mining, but not coal seam gas, she conveniently omits to discuss other impacts that the farmers are concerned about like the waste (salty water), tonnes of salt into landfill, the unregulated use of bore water and the effects on aquifers and the Great Artesian Basin, land-clearing of klm and klms of native trees to run the gas pipes, the effects of leaking wells, etc etc that can still occur on ag land because coal seam gas will not be included in the strategic cropping land legislation - which she made clear right at the end of the interview with Gary Hardgrave. Gary needs to do a little more research to ask tougher questions.

Rachel nolan's comments belie the absolute arrogance and hypocrisy of Bligh's Government. The Disdain and Condescension is simply unbelievable. Both Labour and the LNP are going to get a huge surprise at the next election.
