The family of 53-year-old Stephen John Dickson, who died earlier this month in Fortitude Valley, is appealing for information to assist the homicide investigation.

The parents of Mr. Dickson, Phillip and Rita Millin, are appealing for anyone with information on the death of their son to contact police.

Police have also released CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist police with the investigation.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information about the man pictured (right) to come forward.

The man is described as Caucasian and was wearing dark clothing at the time.

Around 6am on October 5 member of the public located Mr. Dickson unconscious outside a business on the corner of Gotha Street and Barry Parade, Fortitude Valley.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital but died early on October 7.

A Major Incident Room for Operation Argyle has been commenced at Fortitude Valley CIB office.

Media note: The picture depicts the bag the victim was carrying around the time of the murder.

  • Can't believe someone would do something so horrible to such a lovely man. Steve was a very good friend of my brothers when they were teenagers and later became a good friend to me. Such a gentle, kind and beautiful person. I hope whoever did this is caught and made to pay for what they did. He will be remembered and missed by many people. Rest in peace Spook. (nickname).
