  • As long as they build it all on floating pontoons , there should be no problem.
    Brisbane was originally a river delta.
    I don't see any other city built on an alluvial plain. Look at the Amazon, Nile or Missisipi rivers.
    But we continue to tempt fate by building on an alluvial flood plain.
    Shift the focus Mr Quirk.
    Brisbane is a big insurance risk so why not establish all new projects on higher ground and put Southbank back in the hands of the river gods.
    Don't get sentimental and let common sense out the window.
    No more castles in the sand please.
